Rooted Architecture Studio designs environments that support wellness, harmony, and belonging. Our work focuses on helping healthcare providers, wellness practitioners, businesses, community organizations, entrepreneurs, and homeowners create spaces where people feel safe, supported, and connected. We approach every project through human-centered design, sensory awareness, and integration with nature. From mental health practices and medical offices to movement studios and wellness-focused homes, our environments are intentionally designed to support comfort, trust, and well-being. As a bilingual firm, we take time to understand each client’s story and goals. This collaborative approach allows us to design environments that truly reflect the people and communities they serve. In addition to our architectural services, we’re deeply passionate about education. We believe that architecture is a tool for empowerment, both for individuals and communities. Through social media, blogs, courses, and booklets, We aim to share the value architects bring, not only in shaping spaces but also in shaping lives. Rooted was founded by Katherine Serrano Sosa, a NY and NJ licensed architect and proud Latina whose personal and professional experiences shape the firm’s holistic and inclusive design approach. Her vision for Rooted centers on designing with purpose, uplifting underrepresented voices, and creating wellness-focused spaces that reflect the stories and values of the people who inhabit them.
